As a counselor-in-training, Gayle’s focus is on adults who may be experiencing stress, trauma, anxiety, depression, career transition, loss, and adapting to the later years in their life journey.
Her approach is to create a collaborative relationship between counselor and client and to ensure the client’s voice is heard. She feels it is imperative to understand the client’s story and recognize and enhance the client’s strengths and coping skills. Gayle is trained in trauma-informed therapy, a culturally sensitive approach and critical incident stress management. She borrows from different techniques such as humanistic, cognitive behavioral, and feminist and tailors her approach to meet the needs of the client. She understands each client’s story and experiences are unique and along with the client devises a treatment plan that is appropriate to address the client’s needs. Her goal is to offer a safe, open, caring environment. Her pronouns are she/her/hers.
