Khoa received his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology degree from Fulbright University Vietnam in 2023 and is pursuing a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from John Carroll University. Currently, Khoa works with college students to provide career guidance and preparation as the Graduate Assistant for John Carroll’s Center for Career Services.

Khoa is trained in motivational interviewing and combines its person-centered and holistic approach with cognitive behavior therapy techniques to create a safe and judgment-free space to help clients develop inner strengths and build resilience and practical coping skills.

Khoa is passionate about working with young adults and adults and enjoys helping clients explore interpersonal issues, family conflicts, life transitions, depression, anxiety, school, work & family-related stress, body image issues, health & fitness, and men’s mental health issues.

As a Counselor Trainee from Vietnam, Khoa appreciates diversity and strives to incorporate clients’ unique strengths and cultural perspectives into counseling sessions to advocate for those from marginalized populations and create culturally competent support practices.
